There is a blue house on a hill just outside Ravensburg, in Southern germany, It’s an art work by the artist ottmar hörl. it has been a constant landmark since 1998, every drive past has been a dive back into the past. the house symbolises a stable home that never was, a view point that is consistent and the colour glows bright no matter the weather or season.
the blue house has come to be a symbol of unflappability and provides a sense of homecoming, and when grief struck it became an anchor as well. A vessel for sadness, hope, anger and every unnamed feeling. it can house anything and everything because in reality it is completely hollow.
